Welcome to Burr Oak Acres LLC, established in 2018. Rob and Heather were city-slickers who decided it was time to leave corporate America and to embrace a sustainable, farm to table lifestyle. They sold their house in the suburbs and moved to a 10 acre farm in Northern Illinois. With lots of research and hard work, they were ready for their next chapter in life to start!
Their first adventure into sustainably living was with egg-laying chickens. After their first egg, they were hooked! Next came Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats who stole Heather’s heart. She fell in love with both their friendly demeanor and all the ways goat milk can provide for her family. Finally, pigs, Cornish Cross chickens, and Pekin Ducks were added to the homestead, along with an appreciation for the benefits of pasture raised poultry.

Kidding season is April thru May and availability is update both on the Goats section of our website as well as Facebook. Processed meat chickens and ducks are available July thru October. Eggs and soaps are available year-round.
