Egg-laying Chickens

Burr Oak Acres is home to about 50 heritage breed, egg laying chickens. They have free range of a large, backyard pasture. These ladies bless us with an abundance of farm fresh eggs every day. Eggs are available for purchase at $4 per dozen.

Meat chickens

Every summer, we raise over 100 Cornish Cross chickens. We enjoy the knowledge of consuming poultry that is sustainably sourced - we know where the chickens came from and the quality of life they lived. If you are interested in purchasing ethically sourced chicken to feed your family, chickens sell for $4 a pound and are available July-October.

If you wish to raise your own meat chickens, but do not know how to start, contact us! Heather and Rob would be thrilled to teach you what your animals need, how to build tractors to keep them safe, and how to process them when they are fully grown.

Pekin Ducks

Just like the rest of our poultry, our Pekin flock has free range of a fenced pasture, which makes them happier and healthier than their caged in cousins.

Our Pekin ducks are raised both for meat and eggs. Meat goes for $6 a pound and eggs sell for $8 a dozen.
